How do you get your life back after you have lost everything?

I am a 37 year old black single mother of 3 kids: 20, 18 and 16 years old,. I have very bad credit, police record, and cant seem to get my life together. I have always taken care of my children so my credit report meant nothing. Now they are grown, just about, NOW WHAT......I don%26#039;t know what to attack first.......

How do you get your life back after you have lost everything?

You will get your life back one step at a time.

Now that you have done the bringing up the kids fine, you need to start taking care of yourself.

A good thing to start with would be get yourself a nice job that brings some change in your life. When you meet new people and mingle in the fresh air, you will start feeling better and want to start living again for yourself.

Ask your friends to set you up with their friends, start taking walks / join a gym. If you are a pet person, get one for yourself and that will take care of daily walks and fresh air.

You will meet a new man and things will start falling in place one by one.

So, cheer up !! There is a life out there for you...you have to get up and grab it.

Start with working on yourself. You need to feel like a woman again instead of a mom. You now have the opportunity to live life again now that your kids are grown. Grow as a person. Perhaps try some things to boost your self esteem.

If you arent working, find a job you can be proud of.

The record dont mean diddly after time. But, depending on how long ago the occurence was, may interfere with employers giving u a fair chance at a new life again. You need to step up your game.

As far as the credit. Dont accumulate anymore debt. Start slowly and eliminate one thing at a time. Its a long road, but it can be done and although it may take a few years, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck to you hun.

You know the saying - Tomorrow is a new day, well it is so true. Get a copy of your credit report. Start working on the things that are on there. You can%26#039;t do anything about the police record, but depending on the type of work you do, it won%26#039;t matter to some employers as long as your are honest. You may want to work with a reputable attorney if you can. Just don%26#039;t let yourself be defeated. Some of the greatest people have a past. That is why it is called a past. Commit to being a new person and start today. Eventually you can tackle it and it will be a mountain you have conquered. After I read this again, if you feel you are rock bottom, see if your community has any type of schooling or any help you can get being a single mom. Work on getting a good job, and a decent place to live. Stay focused on your credit now, so it doesn%26#039;t go down, don%26#039;t get over extended, only buy what you can afford. Surround yourself with people that love you and continue to feel good about yourself. Just tell yourself you can do anything if you put your mind to it. Search for support groups, like..Adult Children of Alcoholics if you had someone in your childhood that drank. If you did , AA...you will find most are like you...in support groups...and struggle like you...it is a boost to feel like you are not alone. Not that we wallow in another persons sorrow, but you just don%26#039;t feel so lowly of yourself.

Just a day at a time sweetie. Make your goals small with a short time allotment for you to achieve. If you make them too big and you don%26#039;t reach them you%26#039;ll be disappointed. Keep them realistic. Just baby steps for a while and the next thing you know you%26#039;ll be up and running. Do little things for yourself once in a while that are affordable and make you feel good. You deserve it. And I do mean strictly for yourself ... not other people. Do the important things first. Sit and make a plan for you and your family. Keep your chin up and put your trust in God. Surround yourself with positive people ... it%26#039;ll rub of on you without you realizing it until one day you%26#039;ll notice that you are smiling more and enjoying life.
