If the credit card companies are fixing the store charges, what damages would you sue for? If they had your wallet, they had SOME of your ID: almost NO ONE requires a picture ID to use a card for just those reasons.

I think you%26#039;d be tossing bad money afte worse with an atty; but pay one for a consult and see; or better yet ask the CC company.

If the credit card companies are taking care of the charges, you won%26#039;t be able to sue, because you haven%26#039;t been damaged.

See, when you sue someone, you have to be able to say %26quot;his actions/inactions cost me $X amount of money.%26quot; But if your money has been returned, then you aren%26#039;t out anything.

when you used your cards before they were stolen, did any %26quot;business%26quot; ever ask you for an ID? If they did you would have probably gotten all huffy and puffy because of them inconveniencing you. There are no laws dictating merchant have to ask for positive ID on Credit Card purchases, so a frivolous Law Suit would be a waste of everyone time and unneeded expense to the merchant at hand, Credit Cards company have protections in place for this very situation, be glad they took care of this and find better ways of preventing your wallet from being stolen

you have to have a loss to sue. you didn%26#039;t really, because the credit card companies are clearing the mess up

also, right now there is no law i have heard of that requires a business to ask for i.d. to take a card, it%26#039;s just an in-house policy some businesses have adopted to be on the safe side - because, you see, those businesses are about to be screwed too when your credit card companies reverse the charges

i assume you made a police report, but if not, do it now - the credit bureaus will want a copy of it to assist in protecting you in this matter

You should really be more concerned with the fact that the credit card company%26#039;s are taking care of the charges then being way out there whistling in the dark!

It would not do you any good anyway, and what is there to gain? Do you really want to incur a fortune in Attorney fees just to prove that some idiot store should have known better???????

If you have all that kind of money go ahead and make some Attorney happy - and much Richer!!!!!! -

All at your expense!

How do I sue a company?

When you have a credit card, you can ask your credit card company to have vendors require identification prior to acceptance of the card. If you didn%26#039;t, you should have. The person who stole your card is the one who needs to be punished. The store is a victim, too.

If everything has been straightened out by now, just consider it a lesson learned, and be more careful with your wallet. This country has become suit crazy. The store should have apologized to you for your inconvenience. Let it go at that.

If the card companies have canceled the charges you have suffered no damages other than the inconvenience. Any business that ran a stolen credit card 4 times in one day is probably going to lose its merchant account %26amp; may end up being sued by the card company for its losses.
