The best musician ever?

i dont want this to turn into an answer sheet where everyone says so and so is better. my opinion is that bob dylan is the greatest musician ever; he inspired so many and wrote amazing songs. my question is; why does no one say bob dylan is the greatest songwriter and musician ever? everyone says metallica, led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, the rolling stones, the eagles, elton john, or billy joel. no one ever gives bob dylan the credit he deserves; just listen to like a rolling stone; it%26#039;s an instant classic. subterannean homesick blues is considered the first rap song; although that is debatable. many of his songs were covered by other bands/artists and made more famous by the other band. don%26#039;t get me wrong; the bands i naed above are great except metallica who is overrated by quite a bit. why does no one give bob dylan the credit he deserves; i don%26#039;t care if you don%26#039;t like him or not; he desrves credit. He wrote knockin%26#039; on heaven%26#039;s door, not guns %26#039;n%26#039; roses.

He may well be technically one of the best musicians ever. But personal opinion is what you asked for so I have to go with Kurt Cobain as he was an amazing songwriter and a loveable person. Gerard Way is a good songwriter as well. But these are both pop, not exactly %26#039;best of all time%26#039; sorta thing.
