Florida Marlins?

They are so underrated! they took a team of all rookies and almost made the playoffs. no one gives them any credit for that. i dont care if you hate them. give them the respect they diserve. what do you thinK?

Florida Marlins?

I totally agree with you and I think their owner was stupid for firing Joe Girardi, just because he fueded with the owner. The fact was Joe got alot out of his players and the respected him and played their hearts out for him.

I think the Marlins are extremely underrated.

I hope that Joe Girardi gets a job managing soon, because he%26#039;s good.

Florida Marlins?

Tell tha to the ownwer he fired the manager and gives all the players away.

Florida Marlins?

you are so fricken right! they even threw a no-hitter last season!

Florida Marlins?

I think the strategy of the owner is outstanding! He saves up for a few years and then goes all out in one year so he can compete (this was not the case last year however).

In a sport, in the situation that baseball is in that is the only chance the small market teams have. So why aren%26#039;t more teams doing that! I live in Kansas and my Royals are a disappointment ever freaking year. I wish they could use the strategy that the Marlins owner has taken on.

Even more impressive to me, is that the field is natural grass. If it was turf of some kind you could build your team around that fast turf like my Royals did in the 80s.

Its legit! They are doing it right down there in Florida!

Florida Marlins?

Somehow, the Marlins are a team that

wins, despite the odds.

Then the owner disperses the players

to keep salary costs down.

Two possibilities come to mind.

The owner doesn%26#039;t care to support the fans.

Or, the fans don%26#039;t support the team enough

to make winning worthwhile.

Florida Marlins?

They did finish last year strong and showed areas of improvement and promise for the future.

But with a team this young they need time to gel and get even better.

The team had some bright spots:

Cabrera and Uggla All-Stars

Hanley Ramirez NL ROY

Anibal S璋﹏chez no hitter

Hey, keep the faith. It%26#039;s a long season and anything can happen.

Florida Marlins?

there a young teamthat is going to get better every year so keep the faith and dont give up they have good talent

Florida Marlins?

you have to take into consideration the division that they were in, the nl east. They are a pretty solid team, but how would they do against a strong american league team?

Florida Marlins?

If they would keep the players and not trade they would do ok.

Florida Marlins?

they suck

Florida Marlins?

They still have those fine young pitchers. THey still need a centerfielder. The got Aaron Boone to try and replace Wes Helms. He%26#039;ll be their infield utility man. He also brings a veteran presence into the clubhouse. Ricky Nolasco could be their next closer....think about that. There will be no Joe Girardi. That%26#039;s too bad. Freddie Gonzales is a good baseball man. I hope he%26#039;s up to the job. I think the Marlins will be a very repected team this year.

Florida Marlins?

the marlins rock out loud the owner is an idot and an jerk but their scouting is probably the best in the MLB! Girardi was a good coach and Personal Problems shouldn%26#039;t effect a persons job I hope Girardi gets a job and sweeps the marlins just because i want the owner to see how stupid he was however i still root for the marlins. In any case yes they deserve much more respect than they get, they had like the lowest pay last year and still kicked some butt. I%26#039;ve been a marlins fan since the year before they won the world series in 03 and will be as long as they are the Florida Marlins and within reasonable driving distance of my house.

They also use the strategy of get cheap players fromt he minors (Uggla and Ramirez are good examples) tidy em up fix some little errors and you got all stars then after 3 or four years go all out get the best players you can (such as their infield combo in 03 Lee, Castillo, Gonzalez and Lowell) and sweep through everyone. Every year that the team has been over .500 they have won the world series just think abut that. now think the potential they have for the next couple years with all the up and coming stars on the field.

Florida Marlins?

Im a big marlins fan( which are very rare). Ive watched them since 1997,which was their magical world series championship year, ive still managed to watch them even when they had the bad teams in 98 and so on. When they defeated the yankees in 03, to me it was like a rebirth of an unbelievable dream. yes there underrated. the marlins players in past history have been underrated as well.(mike lowell luis castillo I sometimes think miguel cabrera is not mentioned a lot). they have been overlooked mainly because of the fans poor attendance. I cannot say whose to blame the fans or the organization? but all I care is for the team to become better and better with the young players they have. Last year was a great rookie performance by dan uggla, hanley ramirez, josh johnson and others. Even if they have a couple more bad years, I still think there can be one year where they can make the playoffs again and shock the world, for about a few days( mainly because they are overlooked). I look at the marlins as the MLB team with a sprained ankle, while the others are well. yes they have some weaknesses like the bullpen, but I still think it was a great year for florida. I felt bad that they fired girardi, but its like starting over again for the marlins, and who knows what can happen next? If they were ever to be relocated in the near future( I hope not), I think many people will be talking about the Marlins as a Lost Treasure. For a franchise who has been there for only fifteen years and counting, they have went to two postseasons and won the world series with two teams that had different players, except for Jeff Conine. It really doesnt matter if people or analysts hate them. sometimes its better to have a team with less attention like other teams have, so they can be more of a cinderella story when it matters most.

Florida Marlins?

There is no arguing the fact that they have an OUTSTANDING young nucleus! They were inspiring last year and could be beasts for the next 10 years or so. I hate how the Marlins %26quot;fire sale%26quot; after they establish winning teams, but they seem to be very VERY good at rebuilding. I can%26#039;t believe Cabrera is still only 23 years old, he could put up some scary career numbers by the time it%26#039;s allsaid and done. I hope they don%26#039;t trade Willis or Cabrera, I have heard rumors, but I would loveto see what this group could do if they stay togther. Too bad things didn%26#039;t work out w/ Girardi...

Florida Marlins?

Yea, the players deserve credit for making lemonade out of lemons, blah blah blah, but it%26#039;s so hard to be a fan of that team. The owners screw everyone -- INCLUDING FANS.
