Maybe it%26#039;s only here in Northern Virginia, but as a high school senior i can graduate with 22 credits and get a standard diploma, or 24 credits and get an advanced studies diploma. Is there any real difference in the long run? Will colleges care which I have? I would have more than 22 credits but would take the standard because I would be one science credit short. Is it worth taking that one course simply to gain an advanced studies diploma? Has anyone faced a similar situation?
What is the difference between standard and advanced studies diplomas in high school?
This is going to vary from state to state but variances could include the numbers of foreign, fine arts, or advanced courses you may need to graduate if on a recommended or advanced plan. Talk to your high school counselor about your plans for the future and if any of the above credits are necessary for your future plans.
